Something is missing in the Portrait of the World on the main page. That's money. The thing that makes the world go round. So let me complete it.
And Money, in the last count, is the tool people use to disguise slavery.
You may read some more thoughts on money here...
Even though you can download them without paying any money, these books are not free. (So if you do, it would be stealing). I believe that money is not distributed fairly on earth. Some poor man works hours on end sweating and earns a couple of cents whereas some other man makes hundreds of dollars in ten minutes. Nobody can explain that to me by supply and demand. That it's scarcity that determines the price.
“Everybody can plough a field but everybody cannot do an operation.”
“Everybody cannot plough a field either.”
“According to your ability.”
“Besides, good thing more people can plough the field as that is needed by more people. Everybody needs to eat, but luckily not everybody needs to have an operation.”
Nobody can explain that to me by saying that the doctor studied for decades, has experience etc. What did the TV showman study spending his/her years? Ah, you say they are talented and entertain you, they add value to many people's lives? How much value the one earning so much adds and the one who steals so many values is up for discussion I'd say. ((What about the supermodel? Her/His beauty is scarce? There is a demand to see their faces and bodies?))
Economists may have studied and they may have their scholarly explanations, but there is no “human” explanation to any of this unfair distribution of money in the world.
Or worse, money makes money in this world. First you make money.: somehow, doesn't have to be legal ways, doesn't have to be hard-work, then you sit and watch that money making money.
Then there are people getting hundreds thousands of euros just because a law was passed at the time of their retirement. Then there are those people who, by happenchance, are elected to the parliament, the parliament which lasts three months (or even less) and they and their family get paid a salary until they die. Don't tell me all is fair and hard-work. It's not.
I see money as a game. So let's put it the game it is. We make a system that your salary gets paid to someone else -who has worked a whole month or a week like you- by some random choice. And you get paid someone else's salary. Thus, you get to see what that someone else has done, and how much s/he has earned. So you feel the injustice in your bones.
“If you change the places of the rich and the poor, as the dough of mankind is the same, children will still die, there will still be hunger.”
The point is not for the man in Africa and the magnate here to change place. It's to implement/procure a system that would make people to feel bad on others behalf, to feel an outrage for this unjust system. A completely different system needs to be set up. For example, you will work and somebody else will make money, your salary will be paid to someone else. Oh don't protest right away without hearing it all. I may not be so smart but don't take a potshot at me/fire away right away. isimler saydırmayın. And what he earns/makes will be yours. If you don't work and make him earn, he will not work thinking “I'm not making money anyway” so you need to work. We may be able to set up a healthier world order with such a viscious circle logic. (Such a crooked logic would only come out of me.)
But it's very logical what I say. Think of it a bit. If you don't think you'll be making as much money as you work, which, many people probably think they make much less than they deserve and are probably right about it too, this sense of injustice disappears. The better part is, you will no longer be working for money. You will work because you want to, because you take pleasure in what you do. (You may say “Then some jobs will never get done.” Some jobs need to disappear from the face of the Earth anyway. I mean that's what I believe. If nobody is doing something without getting paid, it means it's not something worthwhile. If it is something valuable, be how dirty and hard it is, there will always be volunteers to do those jobs.) And you will adopt the idea of working for someone else's benefit, for the greater good. You will feel fulfilled. Your way of thinking will change, needs must.
The return of what you do will be random. You will feel random happiness. Even if you get disappointed, as fortune turns constantly, in time, it will even out. Nobody will find himself/herself in an injust race because of the condition s/he was born and raised in.
Yeah, that's some idea nobody has ever heard of alright. Or ever thought of...
You may find the idea stupid, you may not want to do it yourself, and for most this is not possible at this point anyway, as someone needs to give them their salary too and there is no such person at this point. I start the game. You give the money that I should be earning to someone else. No publisher, even the big ones, ever paid me without legal warning or my asking for it several times anyway. No one (bar one) whom I lent money paid me back without my having to literally beg for it. I recently bought a house with a tenant in it, she is not paying the rent. Either I am jinxed or there are way too many people who do not pay what they owe. (Or of course this was all a setup for me to come up with and feel strongly about advocating this idea!) I don't want to give out the product of my mind labor for free. These are things I put my time, my life on. They are precious to me. And as I “own” them, I have the right to not give them out for free.
So the proposal is this... You pay the price of the book to IHF, which by far is my favorite NGO, or to any of the others, or to anyone you know in need. Or better yet, to someone who is not from your country, you know one of those people that bother you on the street asking for money. Give it to them. If you must, talk to them first. Find out about their lives, realize that they are humans. (The prices quoted are only suggestions. Please feel free to give more.) And download the books only AFTER you have paid someone else on my behalf.
Yeah, I know, I could have said “All proceedings of these books are going to go here, will be donated to these charities etc.” But I don't want to do that. First, I don't want to do the agent between one agency and people. Second, I would like people to take responsibility on themselves. Third, I would like the money to be distributed more randomly. Whatever... I've got nothing to lose. And I don't expect to get anything in return. ((I know it's too idealistic to try to change the world. And many people end up )) I'm not sure the world will gain anything out of it either, but who knows... Maybe it will.Soldi

These books ARE free. Because it is one of those “Plant a different seed” books and the idea needs to spread around.
So I distribute those seeds for free.
