In A Nutshell...I've done three round-the-world tours and see the world as mine. But I realized that some people of power block some parts of the world to me because of the place I was born. The hardest part of travelling was not overcoming the natural physical obstacles but the man-made fictional obstacles like visas and borders. I cannot finish the mind-blowing absurdities in the political world which everybody respects and takes seriously. Unfortunately, they've set up the world in such a way that you are dependent on them, them being states, and they made everyone believe their fictional story was factual.
I believed in them too. Back in 2001, starting my first round-the-world tour, I heard that we (the Turkish) did not need a visa previously but then there was a bombing in some embassy in Tanzania and allegedly a Turkish was involved in the case. I didn't think anything about it, I just went to the honorary consulate, paid my due and got my visa. It was only 14 years and about a hundred countries later I realized the absurdity of the way things worked. Basically, one guy did something bad and I need to pay a price just because I was born within the same imaginary line as he. Let's suspect all the people who happened to be born within the same boundary as that man. "From the baby in the cradle to the 80 year-old ladies, all people born within the same imaginary line as that bad guy are suspects from now on!" goes the firman. Yeah, right. Sounds pretty rational to me! (Note: This is a sarcastic remark. In case anybody out there gets it as if I am saying it literally is rational.) I know... It's politics. But you agree it's ridiculous the way I put it, and I put it the way it actually is. And we cannot let such ridiculous irrational stupidity rule our lives. How can you expect justice in the world where Injustice starts at birth? There are endless absurd stories, citizenship needs to be redefined, we cannot let states claim our loyalty at birth, betrothing us without our consent. We need to end statehood. Being "a member of the human race" holds no value in itself in the world we live today, it's your citizenship, it's your statehood, it's the nation state you belong to that has the value. Strip yourself of the sovereignty and the protection of a state, you are left naked as a jaybird, as bald as a coot, like a shag on a rock! So even though I do not like keeping count of countries, I decided to travel to every country in the world so that afterwards I burn my passports to make a statement about this insanity of statehood. We should all be #Free2RoamTheWorldWeAreBornIn If you'd like to be a part of this quest, Please join The League of Unreasonable Minds by signing in your name. If you would like to embark on this quest with me, you may follow my steps on Twitter, Linkedin or Facebook. I'm also looking for someone to back me up on this project. Just one patron, one that has the means and believes in my ideas, would be enough. I leave this message in a bottle to the Ocean of Internet for you to come and find me. |
What I want to do
I will be going to every country in the world only to burn my passports even if not a single soul in this world cares about it. Yet, I'm sure there are people out there who care. I consider them as family. I'm curious as to how big a family I have. I would also like to meet my family members.
