“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
If nobody reads your tweets, do you still have so many followers?
Let's say you have a million followers on Twitter. Only a thousand of them reads your tweets. Do you still have a million followers?
Let's say you have a thousand friends on FB. You get a hundred likes every time you post something. Do you still have a thousand or a hundred friends if you cannot find anybody to call in the middle of the night when you need someone to talk to? Or when you know nobody will be there to help you in case of a disaster?
Wikipedia states: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" is a philosophical thought experiment that raises questions regarding observation and knowledge of reality.
What if what we observe in the virtual world and the real world do not match?
