I posted my “Doing the Right and Just Thing” on the comments on The Economist's “A messy but necessary deal” article.
I read all comments before writing anything on forums. I literally read thousands of comments on the matter that I talk about in order to see what people are thinking, what their reactions can be. I had seen this guy on the forums around, he was obviously a fanatic. A die-hard Bulgarian spewing hate at Middle Easterners trying to cross Europe's borders. I was sure he'd jump on to hit me for what I wrote.
I wasn't mistaken. There he comes.
He started addressing me and said “Hehe, Europe will stop you. If not Europe, than Europeans :)”
I'm sorry, but I am in Europe and I am a European. So I guess he was not talking to me but to the Turkish en masse.
He addressed five answers in reply to me but he was simply shooting threats and warnings at “illegals”. I guess he just wanted to use the forum as a place to randomly shoot his threats. You have a right to post only three main posts. Then you can reply to someone else to write. Obviously, this Bulgarian had to keep on shouting murder day and night.
I wondered what kind of a person he was, I mean he gave his character away a lot by the things he wrote but how did he live, what did he do, what kind of environment did he grow up? I wrote the below answer to him. I'm sharing it because I believe it paints a very good portrait of a patriotic defender! You'll get a lot of his message too. (His typos are untouched.)
“I'm not sure if you are aware that most of the things you write here are hate speech. Some examples:
'Migrants' are nothing but human scum-
If I report the above, I'm sure The Economist editors will delete those posts but I do not like censorship even for people like you. It is good that what you write stays so that people reading your posts have an idea of who you are. You say "Migrants are nothing but human scum."
We have a saying in Turkish, “The foul word belongs to the owner.” And in this case, what you call migrants describes you best.
> “Why I should respect such people when they violently enter my country and my continent?”
I am amazed how self-righteous people can be! There is no limit to it apparently. To claim a country, a place that is defined by imaginary lines drawn either by a literally bloody war or by metaphorically bloody politics to belong to them. That, I understand up to a point as we have been raised with that idea and given an identity as a citizen. But you go on to claim a whole continent to be yours too?! Okay, good for you. But why do you stop at the continent? Why don't you say the whole world belongs to you as you were born on it? Which is basically what I am saying. The world belongs to us all. Wherever we, you, they may have been born!
The world is OURS! Plus, all the other living beings's too of course.
What people like you don't seem to understand is that definition of “illegal” changes over time. It is not written in stone. Man-made laws are not like natural laws. And if humanity can grow up a bit more instead of degenerating into scum and going down the gutter along with your like, they will look upon such apartheid days horrified.
> “what kind of human right is that to do crimes and to break laws and borders?”
So you call it a crime to cross some imaginary line, I call setting up borders to block people from going somewhere on the planet they were born a crime. It is a basic human right, a birthright for anyone and everyone to walk on the earth they were born! I know... Laws say what you are saying and most people believe that. It is only a matter of time. When the majority shifts in my way of thinking, laws will tip over too.
> “How many times Europeans did it to the Middle East? in such extent, in such numbers, entering illegally the Middle East and demanding food for free, accommodation for free, financial and any other support?”
Well... That's a very interesting question. Why don't you turn it the other way around? How many times did the Middle East go into Western countries with troops to bomb and destroy their lands? And what makes you think they demand food for free, accommodation for free, financial and any other support? You let them work and they will work. You don't need to give anyone a cent if you don't want to. But you do not have a right to block anyone from going somewhere on the world they were born.
> “Walls and fences are done, troops are on the border. Military forces are prepared. Expect clashes, illegal criminals. You ask for it, you get it.”
Woww! Such rage!
> “It is not friendly attitude to enter one's home and to steal and kill”
No, it definitely is not. Did someone enter your home and steal and kill your family? If so, please accept my sincere condolences.
Do you believe your attitude, your speech here is friendly?
> “Europe DOESN'T OWE anything to anybody.”
See? I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU HERE! Nobody owes anybody anything. The point we deviate is that I believe nobody has a right to block anybody from going where they wish on the planet they were born. You seem to not agree with that.
“'Migrants' carry war in their minds, they carry traumas, conflicts, pain and resentment. They carry thirst for blood.”
That's a very interesting observation coming from you. Because once again, you seem to be just defining yourself. You carry war in your mind, obviously you carry traumas, conflicts, pain and resentment. You carry thirst for blood.
> “I don't care for European laws. Bulgarian law states clearly - ILLEGALS BREAKING THE BORDER ARE SHOT LIKE SH*TS.”
This is pretty interesting too! So you don't care about laws either when you feel like it! Or rather when it is in contrast to what you'd like! Since you have joined the EU, you have to abide by its laws and whatever your Bulgarian law stated, is a relic of the past. So... It is ironic that you label some people ILLEGALS for just walking across an imaginary line and you are ready to KILL them! Who is the criminal here?
> “Decent people cross borders with papers and in a legal way. Illegals are due to be shot like sh*ts by law. What these illegals expect to achieve by force and violence?”
Again... You really have a problem with mirroring. So you think decent people talk like this and are ready to kill innocent people that are not carrying arms just because they moved from one point to another? What do you expect to achieve by force and violence?
I'd suggest, instead of a gun, go get yourself a MIRROR first!"
He didn't write back.
