I will actually go to jail one day. I mean I plan to. To do it knowingly... No, not because I'll be doing anybody any harm, just because of civil disobedience. I'll do it on purpose. But now is not the time. I have a small child to take care of, the impact on my personal life and my family would be too great. I'm on the side of Galileo for that matter. Protest and sacrifice needs to be balanced.
Besides, I still need to do some things, invest in my knowledge and wisdom before I can be effective. We have a saying in Turkish, “Fare dağa küsmüş, dağın haberi olmamış.” It translates as “The mouse stopped talking to the mountain, the mountain did not notice.”
What good is it if I stop only my support from the system and go for civil disobedience?? Nobody will notice or care. We need to become a mountain, I need to have people at my back to form a mountain so that we can have any effective against this monster. It feeds on us. We are the ones feeding it. Because we are helpless. Because all talks of democracy is bs for the simple fact that the one who controls the money has the power. And we provide the money but we don't control it, politicians do. Oh, of course the ones with the huge amount of money control the media and us, and politicians too. The fact remains... Unless there is some awareness of a certain number of people, the world will not tip. And it needs to tip. It desperately needs to tip. All the screws are crooked the way it is. We need to dismantle it and put it back properly.
The nation-state "is one where the great majority are conscious of a common identity and share the same culture" .
The nation-state is an area where the cultural boundaries match up with the political boundaries. The ideal of 'nation-state' is that the state incorporates people of a single ethnic stock and cultural traditions. However, most contemporary states are polyethnic. Thus, it can be argued that the nation-state "[...] would exist if nearly all the members of a single nation were organised in a single state, without any other national communities being present. Although the term is widely used, no such entities exist."
So yes, nation-states do not exist. It's a myth. A myth propagated by politicians to manipulate people. The nation-state mythology is going to be history one day.
But what's more important is, nations and states should be history!
