I got reimbursed by the bank through the credit card I paid for the ticket. You can always issue a complaint of payment when the service paid for is not provided. Of course, I still don't know where this will lead me because I had bought the ticket from Tripsta and they have threatened me with a lawsuit. I don't know if they'd have any grounds for it or they just tried to scare me to pay them back. It's their bank who reimbursed me. I know banks don't get into arguments and decision making. I seriously doubt their bank would do anything without legal grounds, especially given how big Tripsta is and the fact that they wouldn't want to lose such a customer. In fact, they had first denied my request on the grounds of the Carriage Contract stating that visas are the responsibility of the passenger and that visas are subject to change and I need to get information from the related embassies. I said sure it's my responsibility, then argued that if they deny my request on the grounds of that article, they need to show me I have been irresponsible. I said “Sure, visa requirements are subject to change.” But then again, if they deny my request on those grounds they need to show me where I agreed to pay the price in case of such change. As they didn't have an answer to any of these arguments, I was refunded. Of course, on one hand, I feel bad for them because they are just a middle-man and Turkish Airlines should have been the one to pay it back. Now that I've got my money back, Tripsta in turn should force THY to pay them back. It's incredible how such a small thing could and should have been solved by a simple gesture of THY Customer Care, -which should be more appropriately renamed as THY Customer Uncare- becomes such a big issue. Had they recognized the unforeseen extraordinary circumstances and reissued my ticket without any problems, all this unnecessary trouble, all this loss of time and energy of so many parties involved would have been avoided.
